My older sister Sara, who taught me all about photography and darkroom techniques, which i quickly forgot minutes later and had to re-learn later in college, took these photos of a KKK "rally" or "march" in downtown Hickory in the mid 80s. i use quotations, because as you can see, it is quite a pitiful little band of determined bigots and probably not worthy of the "rally" designation.

I think these pictures are pretty awesome, not only for their local historical reference, but also as because of their artistic value. I can only hope that a smidgen of my sister's influence has ever rubbed off on me. Thanks big sis.
